Stein & Loch Bay Circuit

Drive down to the historic fishing village of Stein and park in the carpark at the end of MacLeod's Terrace. From there, walk down towards the sea, cutting left onto the rocky shore near the top of the jetty. This walk is better done on calmer days and when the tide isn't at its highest.

Make your way along the shore, taking care over the rocks and the occasional stream. You can continue all the way along the shore until the houses end if you want to explore further, however, about halfway along the row of houses at Camus Lusta you'll find a small cut back up to a local road behind one of the houses.

This road will lead you steeply back up to the B886 Loch Bay road. At the top, turn left and walk in the opposite direction to the one you took along the shore, admiring the far reaching views over Loch Bay towards the Outer Isles. At the end you will reach a T-junction. Go left and follow the road back down to Stein.

Depending on the time of day, you can enjoy a meal or a drink at The Stein Inn. If the weather permits, we recommend doing this walk later on to end up at Stein for the sunset.
