The Croft House

SLEEPS 4

The Croft House is a two-bedroom cottage in the typical two-storey croft style so ubiquitous to the Hebrides and which would have replaced The Blackhouse as the family home when it was built in 1934.

From the field beside the Croft House cottage, a traditional Highland whitewashed stone cottage at Geary, Isle of Skye.

Approached through the well-kept herb garden, visitors are welcomed by the handcrafted timber porch capped with dried heather from the hill at the top of the croft before stepping in to this cosy and luxurious cottage which appeals to both couples looking for a romantic getaway and small groups on an island adventure.

Marvel at Skye’s dramatic scenery from a luxuriously restored croft house

Today, ‘croft houses’ with their thick stone gables, simple layout of two rooms downstairs and two above either side of a central hall, and white painted exteriors are the ubiquitous architecture of the Scottish Highlands and islands.
